RoboCup is an international competition where autonomous mobile
robots compete in the game of soccer. It is an attempt to promote
intelligent robotics research by providing a common task for
evaluation of various theories, algorithms, and agent architectures.
A multidisciplinary team of researchers and educators at Ohio
University, including undergraduate students, graduate students, and
faculty is currently designing and building a team of mobile robots to
compete in the Lisbon, Portugal RoboCup Games in the
summer of 2004. This is an extremely challenging problem that will
advance the Russ College of Engineering and Technology in research and
educational excellence, in a multidisciplinary manner.
